Reputation Management

It sounds easy enough but most reputation management problems occur when somebody has decided to not be nice. Recently we reviewed a case where a company had received several complaints from a client and they decided to ignore the client in hopes that he would just go away.

The client called, wrote, and even had an attorney write the company demanding that his issue be addressed. Keep in mind, he was wanting a matter handled, not asking for a refund. Why the company did not just humor the client is not on our questionnaire.

So in an effort to be heard, the angry ignored client sets up a series of blogs on places like Blogger.com, Wordpress.com, and so on.

The allegation of the client was that “XYZ Company wouldn’t spend thirty minutes on the phone with me.”

Now, the company has a lot of bad press (thus a serious online reputation management problem) that comes up when searching their company name. The moral of the story… be nice.
