Reputation Management - Name Calling
We see it all. Just like political debates, supporters (or in your reputation’s case, offenders) are quick to call your business or law firm names but not so quick to produce any evidence. So what do you? Do you join the blog that has negative information and set the record straight? Call the client an ignorant dead weight that paid their bills late or not at all? Or intelligibly dispute the matter with facts?
Nope. You stay quiet. Adding inconvenient content like “facts” or “truth” will only complicate the matter because then, you are starting a debate. A debate that will keep adding content to the web which is relevant to the bad press.
The best strategy is to do a little online reputation management run around the issue. Rather than confronting the issue, its best to ignore it and just push positive content on the web no relevant to the accusation.
Once you start disputing, you give credibility to the claim.
